The Mercedes-AMG A45S 4Matic+ has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 79.5 lakh ex showroom. It comes in as a CBU and only a limited number of units will be available.
Powered by a 2.0 four cylinder turbo petrol it puts out 421 hp and 500 Nm torque, making it the most powerful four cylinder engine in the world in a production car. The engine is mated to an 8 speed dual clutch gearbox that sends power to all four wheels via the 4Matic all wheel drive system. It gets a host of driving modes too – Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Slippery, Individual, Race and there’s a Drift mode as well. It goes from 0 to 100 kph in 3.9 seconds and has a limited top speed of 270 kph.
The new AMG suspension with specific spring elements and the new, frequency-selective shock absorbers provides the basis for high directional stability and highly dynamic cornering characteristics with low body roll.
The AMG Track Pace is like a personal racing engineer, function integrated into the MBUX, to specifically analyse and improve driving ability.
The AMG A45S looks super aggressive in terms of styling and gets the full AMG treatment. These include a Panamericana style front grille, large air dams in the front bumper along with a splitter. The bulging bonnet gives a muscular stance. There are LED headlamps and tail lamps along with a rear diffuser in the rear bumper and quad exhaust pipes. The A45S rides on 19 inch AMG alloy wheels. Paint options include Sun Yellow, Polar White, Mountain Grey, Designo Patagonia Red, Designo Mountain Grey Magno and Cosmos Black.
On the interior, the dashboard of the A45S is similar to the A Class but gets the full monty of AMG treatment . This includes the AMG sports steering wheel, AMG sports seats with contrast stitching and Nappa leather upholstery. Features include a 10.25 inch touchscreen with MBUX, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, cruise control, electric adjust for front seats with memory function, 12-speaker Burmester sound system and a wireless phone charging.
The Mercedes-AMG A45 S does not have any direct rivals in India.
