The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross petrol will launch in India next month. The model was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi earlier this year. While prices were expected to be revealed this month, it has been postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The S-Cross petrol will be powered by a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that is BS6 compliant. The motor puts out 105hp and 138Nm of torque, and will with the choice of a 5 speed manual of a 4 speed torque converter automatic gearbox. This petrol engine also does duty in the Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6 and the recently launched Vitara Brezza facelift. The diesel engines have been discontinued from the model lineup.

Apart from the engine upgrade, the S-Cross remains identical to the outgoing diesel model. The S-Cross had previously received a facelift in 2017, that comprised of cosmetic changes and more features.

The S-cross petrol will most likely be available in four trim levels: Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. It is also expected to be cheaper than the outgoing diesel model.
