The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has made it debut at the Auto Expo 2023. The Fronx is a coupe crossover based on the Baleno hatchback.
The Maruti Fronx is underpinned by the Heartect monocoque platform. It gets slim headlamps along with large front grille and a horizontal chrome slat. The bumpers have an aggressive styling and feature faux skid plates. There are new 17 inch alloy wheels that are unique only to the Fronx. Dimensions wise, the Fronx is 3,995mm long, 1,550mm high and 1,765mm wide.
The interiors are pretty much identical to the Baleno but will come with different shades and textures to distinguish it from the regular hatch.
Coming to the engines, the Fronx will see the return of the 1.0 Boosterjet turbo engine that was initially launched in the older Baleno. Making 100 hp and 147.6 Nm of torque, it will come mated to a 5 speed manual or a 6 speed torque convertor automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
Maruti will also offer the 1.2 litre K-Series petrol engine putting out 90 hp and 113 Nm. It will gets the choice of a 5 speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
Bookings for the Fronx are now open and the market launch will happen in April later this year.
