The latest edition of the Mahindra Bolero, known as the Power+, India’s most popular utility vehicle is now BS-VI compliant. The International Centre for automotive technology (ICAT) awarded this certification, making it the first car to receive it within the stipulated time frame.
As with the Power+, Mahindra is also looking to complete the process on the rest of its range within the stipulated time frame. The new Bolero, that was earlier spied testing, is now equipped with many safety features in addition to the engine updates dictated by the new emission norms. These include ABS, driver and passenger airbags, seat belt disengagement and overspeeding reminders and a manual override for central locking amongst other things.
It is interesting to note that not only the standard car but the 9-seater Bolero Plus and the Bolero Ambulance have also received these upgrades. The new Bolero is expected to launch in 2020.
