The Jeep Grand Cherokee will be offered with a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine putting out 272 hp and 400 Nm of torque.
The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 77.5 lakh ex showroom. The Grand Cherokee will be locally assembled and India is the first country which will be assembling the SUV outside North America.
The new Grand Cherokee carries forward the DNA in terms of styling. There is the traditional seven slat grille flanked by slim LED headlamps. There is an aggressive bumper with wide air intakes. You get square wheel arches along with floating roof effect thanks to the blackened out C pillar portion. The rear features LED tail lamps and a butchy rear bumper.
The interior is also all new. There is a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster along with a 10.1 inch touch screen for the infotainment system with U-Connect in the centre. The front passenger also gets an individual 10.1 inch screen as well. The dashboard is layered and features leather and wood. Features include heads up display, wireless charging, digital rear view mirror, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear seat entertainment screens, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and a powered tailgate.
The Grand Cherokee will be offered with a 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo petrol engine putting out 272 hp and 400 Nm of torque. There will be no diesel on offer. The engine comes mated to an 8 speed automatic gearbox sending power to all four wheels. It also gets gets selectable terrain modes – Auto, Sport, Mud/Sand and Snow.
It gets 33 connected car features that include 24X7 Dedicated Assistance, Remote Vehicle Management, Monitor Vehicle Parameters, Navigation & Connected Traffic & Travel, 24-hour surveillance & Automatic Crash/ Breakdown detection.
Safety features include, 8 airbags, Active Driving Assistance System(ADAS), 360-Degree Surround View, Drowsy Driver Detection, 3 Point seatbelt and Occupant Detection for all 5 passengers.
The Grand Cherokee will be available in a 5 seater layout in India. Deliveries will begin by the end of the month.
