2016 Jaguar XJ facelift revealed
Jaguar has revealed the XJ facelift and it comes with styling updates as well as two new variants.
The new XJ gets full LED headlights and unique double ‘J-Blade signature’ daytime running lights. They also come with active front steer- and static bend lamp functions, and auto high beam-assist. There is a larger grille and chrome blades in the air intakes of the front bumper. The rear LED tail lights a new J-signature tail and position light graphic. The new rear bumper gets a gloss black valance and a slender chrome insert along with oval exhaust finishers.
Moving on to the interior, the XJ comes with a reconfigurable 12.3-inch TFT instrument cluster with full-screen navigation display. Other features include a new InControl Touch Pro infotainment system offers door-to-door navigation, seamless iOS and Android connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot and a 26-speaker, 1,300W Meridian Digital Reference audio system. Additionally, it gets advanced driver assistance systems including adaptive cruise control with queue-assist, reverse traffic detection, closing vehicle sensing, 360° surround camera system and semi-automated bay- and parallel parking.
The 3.0 V6 diesel engine gets a power bump and it now develops 296 bhp and 700 Nm torque.
Jaguar has added two new variants to the XJ lineup; Autobiography and R-Sport.
The Autobiography is available only in the long-wheelbase form. It gets chrome front bumper air intakes and 20″ Mataiva wheels. Inside, there’s a unique Autobiography Intaglio, quilted semi-aniline leather seats with contrasting stitching, a leather headliner, rich oak inlay veneer, and illuminated stainless steel treadplates, air vents and boot finisher.
The new R-Sport model features a three-piece front splitter, deep side sills, side power vents and rear spoiler. A gloss black finish enhances the grille mesh, rear valance and, as standard in select markets, the window finishers. Wheels are 20″ Venom. The interior gains sports seats, R-Sport steering wheel and treadplates, Jet headliner and piano black trim.
The Jaguar XJ facelift should reach Indian shores later this year.
