Isuzu Motors India has roped in legendary South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes as the brand ambassador for the V-Cross pick-up truck and promoting the Isuzu brand in India.
The Isuzu brand has focussed on the Never Stop phliosophy combining it with Jonty’s reputation of being a game changer. The car maker also launched a TV commercial featuring the cricket star at an event in Mumbai.
Isuzu has been selling the D-Max pick-ups and the MU-X SUV in the market. The models are locally produced at a plant in SriCity Andhra Pradesh since production began in April 2016. The V-Cross especially has carved a niche for itself and has found a liking among many enthusiasts as a life-style machine. The pick-up culture is slowly picking up in India and Jonty’s appointment as brand ambassador should do a lot of good to the brand name as a whole. According to Isuzu officials, the V-Cross now accounts for 30 percent of total sales in India. An automatic variant o the V-Cross is also expected in the future.
Commenting on the association, Jonty Rhodes said “I am pleased to be associated with a legendary brand that makes reliable, durable and performance-oriented vehicles. Coming from country where Pick-ups are commonly used as a personal vehicle for daily commute and weekend getaways, I am equally excited to endorse such a versatile vehicle like the V-Cross in India from a world-renowned manufacturer of automobiles. India is a phenomenal country and I have had the opportunity to be closely associated with this country, doing new things and meeting new people. I am truly excited to be associated with ISUZU in India and I look forward to an amazing journey with the brand.”
