The roof of the Ferrari Roma Spider takes 13.5 seconds to open or close and can be done at speeds up to 60 kph.

Ferrari Roma Spider Handling

The Ferrari Roma Spider features version 6.0 of the Side Slip Control and that translates to sharper handling once you get into Sport mode. Inspires super confidence going into corners. I didn’t try to get too adventurous though. Even with the weight gain, it hasn’t changed any of the Roma’s characteristics.

Ferrari has done minor changes to the active damper system as well because of the change in the weight distribution. The steering also feels a little less direct as compared to other Ferraris but that goes with the GT characteristics of the Roma Spider. Also, it doesn’t get the front suspension lift, and while that is ok in Dubai, it can be an issue on Indian roads.

Ferrari Roma Spider Verdict

Ok now to sum things up. The Ferrari Roma Spider is quite the complete package. Adding a soft top hasn’t taken away any of the thrills that the coupe offers. Going away from a hard convertible roof to a soft fabric one has brought some old world charm to this modern Ferrari. And did I say that it is one of the most beautiful looking Ferraris ever? Sure its fast as hell and that symphonic V8 is music to the ears. But if there is one Prancing Horse that would does everything in a leisurely manner well and pulls your heart strings at the same, look no further than the Roma Spider.
