Chevrolet showcased the iconic Corvette Stingray at the Auto Expo 2016. It was easily one of the show stoppers of the Expo.
The Stingray comprises of a stiff space frame construction which aids in 50:50 weight distribution. It gets Bi xenon HID headlamps with LED turn indicators. There are large air vents on the front fenders. The rear houses the trademark Corvette tail lamps and four exhaust pipes in the centre.
On the interior, the Stingray gets seats wrapped in Napa leather, a flat bottom steering wheel with mounted controls, side bolstering for the seats, 8 inch LCD screen for the infotainment system, Heads Up Display, premium Bose surround sound system with AUX and Bluetooth connectivity. The Stingray also comes with Apple Car Play.
The Stingray is powered by a 6.2 litre V8 engine that develops 460 horsepower and 630 Nm torque. This propels the car from 0 to 100 kph in 3.7 seconds. Brembo brakes are standard on the Stingray. The engine is mated to either a 7 speed manual or an 8 speed automatic gearbox with paddle shift. The car is also equipped with a Performance Data Recorder that records videos of your drives and saves them on a SD card. There is a Valet Mode as well.
Chevrolet has no plans of launching the Corvette in the Indian market. However knowing that Ford is launching the Mustang soon, we hope that Chevrolet has a change of mind and we see the iconic Vette on Indian roads.
