Audi Q2 Engine & Performance
Now to my favourite part, the engine. The 2.0 four cylinder TFSI is one of the nicest motors I have driven in recent times. This same engine does duty in A6, VW Tiguan AllSpace, Skoda Superb etc. Power is rated at 190 hp and maximum torque of 320 Nm. The engine is extremely refined and there is no noticeable lag once you get going. The acceleration is linear and there is a good punch when you cross the 2000 rpm mark. The TFSI motor is very rev happy too and sounds great at higher revs. This one is certainly for the driving enthusiast. The Audi Q2 comes with a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox and as expected, shifts are lighting quick and smooth. The only grouse I had that it hesitated to down shift at times, especially when braking.
Audi Q2 Ride & Handling
The ride is quality on the Q2 is impressive and it goes over bad road undulations pretty easily. The setup is on the stiff side though and bigger bumps do make their presence felt. But in no way do they unsettle the baby Q. Although the Q2 comes with quattro, unlike the bigger SUVs, here the system is front wheel biased and AWD kicks in on demand. It is good enough for mild off-roading though. As far as handling goes, there is a little body roll turning into corners, but there is a lot of grip and feels quite sporty. It was a lot fun going through the twisties during the drive. High speed stability is excellent and the brakes have enough bite.
