Range Rover Evoque goes CKD in India
The Range Rover Evoque is easily one of the most beautiful cars around. JLR launched the Evoque in India in 2011 as a CBU. Thanks to our higher taxes on fully imported cars, the asking price ended up making the Evoque an expensive propsition.
JLR has now finally started assembling the Evoque in India via the CKD route. This move has made the Evoque cheaper by around Rs. 16 to 20 lakh rupees depending on the variant you choose. It now also comes with more equipment.
The Pure gets SD card navigation and reverse camera and front parking sensors as well. The Prestige variant gets 360 degree surround camera and rear entertainment package as standard.
Mechanically the Evoque remains unchanged and is still powered by the same 2.2 litre diesel motor putting out 188 bhp and 420 Nm torque. It is mated to a 9 speed automatic gearbox.
On road Mumbai prices are as follows: (individual with Octroi)
- Pure – Rs. 59,82,703
- Dynamic – Rs. 64,30,229
- Prestige – Rs. 68,95,143
