Audi has showcased the all new A4 sedan for the first time at the Auto Expo 2016. The car is slated for launch later this year.
The new A4 is 4.73 metres long, 1.84 metres wide and a height of 1.43 metres. The car has a wheelbase of 2.82 metres. Like all newly launched Audis, the new A4 also gets LED headlamps with dynamic turn indicators. While the show car has 17 inch alloys, the India spec car is expected to get 16 inch alloy wheels as standard. It also comes with LED tail lamps.
The interior of the new A4 is more spacious than the outgoing model. Audi says it has the greatest shoulder width at the front as compared to its rivals. Other features on the interior include electric adjust for front seats, memory function for driver’s seat. walnut dark brown inlays in the dashboard, LED interior lighting package, automatic climate control, leather wrapped three spoke multi function steering wheel, MMI Touch infotainment system with navigation, smart phone interface for Apple and Android phones, Audi Virtual cockpit, Parking System Plus with rear view camera and Bang & Olufsen 3D surround sound system. It comes with eight airbags including rear side airbags.The car displayed at the expo had a 3.0 litre TDI V6 diesel engine developing 272 horsepower mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. It also came with Audi’s quattro all wheel drive system. The India spec car is expected to come with a 1.8 litre petrol and 2.0 diesel engine. Audi had sold very limited numbers of the previous gen 3.0 TDI in India. It is not known if they will launch this variant of the new car in India.
The new Audi A4 will rival the Mercedes C-Class, BMW 3-Series, Volvo S60 and the newly launched Jaguar XE.
