There is no doubt that the Maruti Swift is easily one of the most popular hatchbacks out there in the Indian market and customers have sworn by it ever since the launch of the first generation model way back in 2005. Even today, with newer competition, the Swift has managed to hold its own and still bring in the numbers for Maruti Suzuki. Now in its third generation that has been around 2018, the 2021 Maruti Swift gets a midlife update. It gets a new petrol engine along with some styling changes and few extra features. How does all this stack up? Lets find out.

2021 Maruti Swift Exterior

There’s not much to distinguish the 2021 Maruti Swift from the outgoing model. What’s new is a chrome bar on the front grille and the slats have been replaced by a black mesh. Everything else is pretty much the same including the design of the alloy wheels.  The Swift now comes with dual tone options for the exterior: Red with black roof, blue with white roof and white with black roof. The dual look surely gives the Swift a sporty touch. Overall I feel this is still the best looking Swift from all three generations. It is a design that wont age too quickly.

2021 Maruti Swift Interior

There are not too many changes in the interior either. The Swift now gets the latest SmartPlay Studio infotainment system that has some very catchy and bright colours. It is also very slick to use. You also get a colour MID screen between the dials of the instrument cluster. The dials themselves with the red outlines look attractive too. The seats get new upholstery and there is cruise control on offer as well. There are some missing features though like wireless charging pad, sunroof and connected car technology. The 2021 update would have been a good opportunity for Maruti to add these features as well, considering they are offered by the competition. The front seats get side support and hold you well in place. The rear is adequately comfortable too and space is decent as well. There are no rear AC vents though. The cabin is nice overall though quality of some plastics could have been better.
