The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has crossed sales of 5 lakh units in just four years of launch. The Vitara Brezza was first revealed at the Auto Expo 2016 and the compact SUV is sold via Maruti Suzuki’s Arena channel.
The Maruti Suzuki is current powered by a 1.3 litre DDIS turbo diesel that comes with a choice of a manual or AMT gearbox. However, with the BS VI norms coming into effect from April 1st 2020, this engine will be retired as it does not comply with the new emission norms. The Vitara Brezza is expected to come with a new 1.5 litre BS VI compliant petrol engine with a manual and torque converter automatic gearbox. Launch is expected soon.
Features of the Vitara Brezza include projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, LED tail lamps, SmartPlay infotainment system, auto climate control, dual tone paint option and customisable colours for the speedometer. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, high speed alert system, ISOFIX child restraint system, front seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters.
Rivals of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza include the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport and the Mahindra XUV300. Along with a new engine the Vitara Brezza is also expected to get a facelift.
