After a recent unveiling of its Indian debut vehicle, the Seltos, Korean automaker Kia has confirmed its plans to launch the Carnival MPV in 2020.

The Carnival is likely to be powered by a 2.2L front wheel drive motor that pushes 202 hp and 441 Nm of torque, with options for a 6-speed manual and automatic gearboxes.

The Carnival’s highlight will, however, be its practicality. Having a three-row interior, we can expect the cabin to be a feature loaded affair. Instead of regular hinged doors, the car will get electrically actuated sliding rear doors that make ingress and egress from the third row easier. With a lot of safety features, it will feature exuberant convenience too, namely, dual 10.1-inch touchscreens for rear entertainment, 3 zone climate control, armrests, and extendable leg rests for the second row amongst other things.

While the Carnival will be assembled in India, its engine will be completely built and imported. It will compete against the significantly smaller yet trusty Innova Crsyta in the Rs. 25-26 lakh price bracket.
