The new Honda Amaze has been launched at a starting price of Rs. 5.60 lakh (introductory) for the entry level E petrol going up to Rs. 8.99 lakh for the top end diesel VX, all India ex showroom. This is the second generation of the compact sedan.
The new Amaze remains under four metres in length and gets a fresh design. The front looks inspired fro the Accord Hybrid and appears sharp. The bonnet is flat and the rear has been completely redesigned giving it a very fresh appearance.
The new Amaze gets beige and black interiors along with a spacious cabin. The fit and finish on the new car is way better than its predecessor. There is a 7 inch touch screen for the infotainment system. Other features across variants include LED daytime running lamps, 15 inch alloy wheels, keyless go with push button start, voice command, cruise control and reverse camera. The new Amaze also features Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Engine options include a 1.2 litre petrol engine putting out 90 horsepower and a 1.5 litre i-dtec diesel engine developing 100 horsepower. Both engines are offered with either a manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. However the diesel auto variants have 20 horsepower and 40 Nm less torque.
Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors standard across all variants. The new Amaze is available in 5 exterior colour options. There will be 4 trim levels on offer: E, S, V and VX. The CVT will only be available in S V level trims.
The new Amaze gets a standard warranty of 3 years/ unlimited kms. There is 4th and 5th year extended warranty also available for unlimited kms. Service intervals are 1 year or 10,000 kms.
The new Honda Amaze rivals the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Xcent and the Volkswagen Ameo in the Indian market
