Maruti Vitara Brezza crosses 200,000 units sales in 20 months
The Maruti Vitara Brezza has recorded sales of 200,000 units in just 20 months. The car maker’s first sub four metre compact SUV had touched the 150,000 mark in July 2017.
The Vitara Brezza was launched in the Indian market on March 8, 2016 after being unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo that year. Since then it has been selling an average of 10,005 units per month.
The Brezza’s direct rival and number 2 model, the Hyundai Creta took 25 months to cross the 200,000 sales mark after being launched in June 2015. Till October 2017, the Creta has sold 224,015 units.
The Vitara Brezza is powered by the tried and tested 1.3 litre Fiat sourced DDIS diesel engine that develops 89 bhp and 200 Nm of torque.
The Brezza has raced to the 200,000 units sales mark pretty quickly: 0,000 in seven months, 100,000 in less than a year, 150,000 in 17 months and now the 200,000 landmark in 20 months.
