Mercedes Concept A sedan revealed at Shanghai Motor Show
The Mercedes Concept A sedan has been revealed at the Shanghai Motor show. This concept previews the next generation of compact cars that the German car maker will make in the future.
The front of the Concept A sedan features the new Panamerican front grille along with triangular headlamps with purple elements. Mercedes says that the grid structure of the headlamps is coated in UV paint and then exposed to ultra violet light. There are large air intakes on the front bumper with black accents. The concept gets flushed door handles, slim ORVMs and a blackened B pillar. While the rear looks similar to the CLA, it features tapering triangular tail lamps. The large wheel arches are flanked by 20 inch alloy wheels. Daimler’s chief design officer said, AG Gorden Wagener said “Our Concept A Sedan shows that the time of creases is over. With its perfect proportions and a sensual treatment of surfaces with reduced lines, it is the next milestone of Sensual Purity and has the potential to introduce a new design era.”
