2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Interior

The interior is a big step up from the previous gen and the dashboard is dominated by the ‘Superscreen’ . Apart from the 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, you get a 14.4 inch centre screen and a 12.3 inch passenger display. There is a 3 spoke steering wheel that allows you to control everything vis touch pads on both the spokes. Another highlight is that the climate control is all integrated into the screen. So much so that the direction flow of the AC vents are controlled digitally. Of course the good thing is you can adjust them manually as well just like the good ol’ days. There’s a selfie camera on the dashboard which you can use to click pictures, videos and attend online conferences, of course when the car is standing still. The 4D Burmester sound system with 17 speakers and 730W is fantastic and you even get speakers in the seats that get 10 levels of adjustment. That said it does give vibrations in the seats, close to massage vibes. The centre console gets ash wood finish which feels plush. Open it and you have a couple of cupholders, 2 USB-C charging ports and a wireless charging pad. The new E-Class gets a split panoramic sunroof that can be voice controlled.

The front seats are very supportive and offer excellent comfort. The headrests also get soft pillows which feel nice but the seats do not get ventilation. A big miss. Now coming to the back seat which is the most important place in the E-Class. If the previous gen car was good, this is even better. Space aside, comfort is levels higher too. The highlight is that the rear backrest reclines between 26 and 360 degrees. The seat base can also be extended by 40mm for better under thigh support. You also have the ‘Boss Mode’ where you move the front seat all the way forward. You almost feel like you are in a private lounge. There are powered sunblinds for the rear windshield and windows and also manual ones for the rear quarter glass. The India spec car also gets the Chauffeur Pack as standard. The folding centre armrest gets couple of cup holders, storage space and a wireless charging pad. The E-Class gets a powered tail gate and you get 510 litres of boot space. The space saver is tucked away in a wheel well under the boot floor so you don’t have to compromise on boot space.
