Its been 30 years since the three pointed star made it debut in India and it was the Mercedes-Benz E-Class that started the story being the first model to be officially launched on our shores. And even after all these years, it continues to be the most popular and best selling model in the car maker’s portfolio. Mercedes changed the game when they launched the long wheelbase of the E-Class in 2017. Before this, long wheelbase versions were available only in China that too in left hand drive config. We now get the 6th gen of the luxury sedan, again in the long wheel base version. The new 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class comes with the promise of taking the luxury game even higher. I spent a few days with the E200 which the entry level model to the E-Class range.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Exterior

For starters, the new E-Class (V214) has grown in size. Coming to the numbers, It measures 5,092 mm in length and 1,493 mm in height. The wheelbase has also been extended by 15 mm (over the V213) and measures 3,094 mm. Upfront it gets new design LED headlamps with DRLs, the star studded radiator grille gets a chrome outline with a large Mercedes logo in the centre. Look closely and you feel that the headlamps have been integrated with the grille in a seamless way. Looking at from the side does give the limousine vibes and the V214 looks better proportioned than its predecessor in my opinion. The flush door handles look classy, while the 18 inch alloy wheels have a likeable design. Don’t miss the rear quarter glass that is a highlight of this LWB version of the E. The rear gets new design LED headlamps sporting a three pointed star design element. A chrome strip runs across the entire boot lid and twin exhausts are hidden under the bumper. The new E-Class comes in 5 colour options – High Tech Silver, Graphite Grey, Polar White, Obsidian Black and Nautic Blue.
