2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Engine & Performance
The 2024 Jeep Wrangler retains the 2.0 turbo petrol engine that puts out 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. This engine is also shared with the Grand Cherokee. This engine feels more refined than before. Power delivery is smooth and linear and driving with a light foot, one can just cruise all day long. Mid range is quite punchy and the engine responds rather quickly to kickdowns, making it easy to overtake. Shifts from the 8 speed automatic are smooth. The engine just get vocal at the higher end of the rev spectrum. Also tyre noise is prominent inside the cabin. The sweet spot to drive it is at 100-120 kph on the highway at around the 2000 rpm mark. Jeep claims a 0 to 100 kph timing of 8.1 seconds.
Ride quality is quite impressive and the Wrangler will devour anything that comes in its way. Broken tarmac, potholes, expansion joints on flyovers, nothing will unsettle the Wrangler. The light steering makes it easy to drive in the city too. Taking three point turns will be an effort though due to its sheer size.
