2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC220d Interior
There are significant changes to the interior of the new GLC and those are apparent as soon as you step inside. The large 10.25 inch touch screen takes centre stage on the dashboard. It features crisp graphics and is very easy to use. You can also control it via a touch pad on the centre console that replaces the earlier rotary dial. The new GLC is the first model in the Mercedes-Benz India portfolio to come with the all new MBUX infotainment system. I will get to details later in the review. The centre console also comes finished in walnut brown wood finish that looks plush. I prefer this to glossy ones anyway. There is a new steering wheel with touch controls as well. The beige upholstery of the test car gave a very airy feel to the cabin. Other features include 64 colour ambient lighting, wireless charging and a panoramic sunroof. Space is good at the rear too with ample legroom thanks to the scooped out front seats. Headroom is great too and 3 people can sit rather comfortable. There are manual unblinds for the rear windows and 2 C-type chargers and 12 V power socket as well. Missing features? Well memory seats would have been nice and also the classy Burmester sound system is absent.
Coming to boot space, the new GLC comes with 930 litres, because Mercedes has moved the spare wheel to under the boot floor. Quite a bit of boot space used to be taken up earlier, when the spare was mounted in the boot itself. With the second row folded, the space goes up to 1558 litres.
