2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Ride & Handling
Thanks to the new platform, handling on the Discovery Sport is vastly improved. It feels more confident going corners, even though there is body roll when you turn in sharply. The steering is on the heavier side but that is something I personally like. There is good feedback especially at higher speeds. What I really love about the Discovery Sport is the ride quality. This SUV just eats up broken roads and uneven terrain for breakfast. Sharp bumps do get felt but only just. The suspension is so well tuned that you literally do not have to slow for anything. Driving it up the broken mountain roads felt really exciting, and along with the sorted handling, it was a lot of fun too. High speed stability is excellent.
2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Verdict
The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport brings more to the table than being just a facelift. While the exterior might have minor cosmetic updates, the interior is a significant upgrade from the previous model. While the Evoque is all about style, the Discovery Sport makes practicality its strong point. There’s a lot of equipment on offer too, especially in the R Dynamic variant. The 5+2 seating is an added bonus. Refinement levels are better, and therefore feels nicer to drive as well. And if you want to go off-road, being a proper Land Rover, it has you covered. With a lot of improvements and a new platform, the 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport is quite a compelling package. On an ending note, if there is something on my wish list, I hope we get the D240 spec diesel someday in India. Now that would really be something, wouldn’t it?
